A new collectible inspired by the international literary hit Moomin is coming stateside.
DeAgostini, the European collectibles brand known for its Fanhome platform in the U.S., is aiming to connect with families via the Moominhouse subscription build. The home of the Moomin family stands nearly 27 inches tall upon completion and is based on the books by Finnish Swede author/artist/creators and siblings, Tove and Lars Jansson.
The licensing deal for the Moominhouse was brokered by Rights & Brands, a licensing and publishing agency focused on bringing Scandinavian intellectual property (IP) to families around the world.
This partworks-style collection arrives in installments containing pieces of the model, figures, accessories, and original magazines that further explore the Moomin world alongside detailed instructions.
The completed Moominhouse is 14 inches wide and offers 360 degrees of play area with a removable roof and walls that allow access to the home’s interior space. The set includes home furnishings and figures that are based on the original illustrations.
